I have a bad habit of eating more snacks than meals on occasion. This is mainly due to the fact that I spend a big chunk of my day chasing a toddler around, so I find myself just grabbing whatever I can, whenever I can. I’m sure most moms can relate. The fact that hubby likes to pick up chips and cookies on his way home certainly doesn’t help matters. Almondina cookies are healthy snacks that make it more than easy to avoid eating the calorie heavy foods that hubby brings home. They are my new addiction, and a good one at that!
Almondina cookies are all natural, with no added fat or salt, and have no cholesterol. They come in a variety of flavors. The ones I have devoured sampled are:
- The Original – America’s all natural favorite with almonds and raisins
- Choconut™ – Almonds, Raisins and rich tasting crunchy chocolate, but low in calories
- Cinnaroma® – The original biscuit for cinnamon lovers
- Gingerspice – Trend setting, with chunks of real ginger
- Sesame – Irresistible, exotic, flavorful
- Chocolate Cherry – Almonds, Chocolate and Cherries (how could you go wrong?)
With as amazingly delicious as the ones I sampled were, I’m sure the other flavors that I have yet to try are just as yummy!
- AlmonDuo® – Double-nut wonder with roasted almonds and pistachios
- Brantreats – Almonds, Bran, Raisins and cinnamon. Cookies For Breakfast
- Anniversary – Award winning delight with a touch of anise
- Chocolate Dipped – The Original, dipped in one of the world’s finest chocolates {I really, really want to try this one!}
I was very pleasantly surprised at just how much I love, love, love these cookies! I’ve been sitting here trying to decide on a favorite, but I just can’t pick one. Considering I was able to sample six different flavors, I thought for sure there was going to be one that I didn’t like. I was wrong though, I absolutely loved them all.
The Original and the Sesame flavors are extremely flavorful and great anytime. The Choconut and Chocolate Cherry are perfect for when those chocolate cravings hit. I was a little hesitant to try the Chocolate Cherry because I don’t really care for cherries, but the taste of the cherries mixed in with the chocolate and almonds worked so well together that I ended up really enjoying it! Then there’s the Cinnaroma and Gingerspice which are perfect for satisfying my very demanding sweet tooth.
It may sound to good to be true, but all of this awesome deliciousness adds up to only around 30 calories a cookie…..seriously!
