I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Heinz Vinegar. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and as a thank you for participating.
Do you like Vinegar? We sure do! It is a definite staple in our home and we use it for all sorts of things. Heinz has many different types of vinegars available, but one of my favorites is their Apple Cider Vinegar.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Heinz® Apple Cider Vinegar begins with fine quality apples and crystal clear water. With its clean, mellow flavor, it’s ideal for your favorite salads, marinades and recipes. And Heinz® Apple Cider Vinegar is guaranteed to have the full 5% acidity required for successful canning and pickling.
Apple cider vinegar tastes great when used in recipes. It’s great in salad dressings, barbecue sauce and more! My friend Ashley over at Maryland Momma’s Rambles & Reviews says she likes to use it to braise chicken. One of my favorite recipes to use apple cider vinegar in is deviled eggs. I’ve included the recipe for how I make them at the bottom of this post.
Apple Cider Vinegar is also great to use as an all-purpose cleaner. In a spray bottle, mix together 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar with 1 cup of water. Just be sure to shake it before you use it. It’s great for cleaning things around the home, such as microwaves, kitchen counters and cutting boards.
Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar
Though I love apple cider vinegar for all the reasons above, I have to admit that I had never tried it unfiltered before.
This is vinegar in its most natural and wholesome form. Heinz® Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar retains the “mother” of the vinegar – a compound created naturally during vinegar’s fermentation process. It’s ideal for your favorite salads, marinades and recipes. Whether used for cooking or its countless other benefits, Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar is sure to please.
The “mother” of the vinegar is something that you can actually see in the bottle.
There are many benefits to the “mother” of the vinegar. It is often recommended to prevent dandruff, improve digestion as well as soothe both sunburn and sore throats!
Heinz has a great recipe for Apple Iced Tea that uses unfiltered apple cider vinegar. Yum!! Speaking of recipes, here is my recipe for deviled eggs, as promised.
Deviled Eggs Recipe
Easy Deviled Eggs | | Print |
- 1 dozen eggs
- ¼ cup mayo
- 2 tbsp. mustard
- 1 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar
- Paprika, for garnish
- Place eggs in large pot and fill with enough cold water to cover eggs completely.
- Bring water to a rolling boil, let boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and cover.
- Let eggs sit in the hot water for about 15 minutes. Drain water from pot.
- Peel shells from eggs.
- Cut eggs in half lengthwise, remove yolks and put them in separate bowl.
- Mash yolks with a fork. Add mayo, apple cider vinegar and mustard and mix well.
- Spoon mixture into hollow of eggs. (sometimes I use an icing gun to make it look pretty)
- Sprinkle with paprika.
I also came across a great tip on the Heinz website: Adding two tablespoons of Heinz® White Vinegar per quart of water before boiling eggs will prevent cracking, and the shells will peel off faster and easier when they’re done.
Fun Fact
Did you know? When you need to leave your car out overnight in the winter, you can coat the windows with a solution of three parts Heinz® Apple Cider Vinegar to one part water and they’ll be frost free!
