You’ve probably heard of the KonMari method from the book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, or maybe you’ve seen the Netflix series, Tidying Up. If you haven’t, and are looking for more joy in your life, I totally recommend reading the book, or watching the series….or both!
When I first finished the book I decided to get right to work on going through my clothes. My closet went from everything being crammed in so ridiculously tight that it took eons to find something that I actually wanted to wear, to being able to see only clothing that brings joy. Can you imagine how much simpler it is now to grab something to wear when everything in your closet is something you love?! There’s no more trying one thing on, deciding not to wear it, putting it back, and then repeating that same vicious cycle many times over. LOVE it!
The inside of my dresser is also a total “joy-sparker” now! I folded all of my pants, shorts and other bottoms as described in the book, as well as my sock and underwear drawer. The only things I didn’t do was fold my t-shirts instead of hanging them, and fold my underwear (who has time for that?) – a pretty little basket that fits in the drawer was the perfect solution! I just toss them in the basket and it still looks nice and organized.
Unfortunately, I was so excited to get to the KonMari-ing that I didn’t think to take before pictures. Here are a couple of the afters though…
If you’re interested in following along on my little KonMari journey, I plan on posting my progress along the way!
