Prompt: If you could be given the option to never sleep and also never be tired, would you take it if it meant you’d also never dream again?
When I first thought about this question, the idea of having more time sounded very appealing. Then, I really thought about it. I imagined being awake all the time and what it would be like to have no beginning or end to everyday. That didn’t sound fun at all. It simply wouldn’t be worth it for me if it meant not having any kind of a break.
There is too much I would miss if I never slept. I love going to sleep at night all cuddled up with hubby. I also think it’s cute when the little ones pitter-patter their way to our room in the middle of the night to snuggle up with us.
I also wouldn’t want to give up my dreams! They are my little mental escapes where absolutely anything can happen, my very own Wonderland. My dreams also inspire many things in my life. Sometimes, thoughts and ideas that may never have crossed my mind otherwise, come to me in sleep. There is no way I could just give it all up!
How about you? If you could be given the option to never sleep and also never be tired, would you take it if it meant you’d also never dream again?

That is a tough one. Honestly… I think I would forgo the sleep. There is so much that I need to get accomplished on a daily basis that forgoing sleep would just make so much easier. My biggest problem is that there are days when I get WAAAAY too much sleep and it sets me very behind on my tasks for the day. I am not an alarm clock person either….. I’d forgo the sleep.

Hmmm, I don’t know. Sleep is so comfy sometimes 🙂 I don’t really dream. It’s like I fall asleep and then wake up. I’d probably get way more done if I wasn’t so tired, hehe. But I’d miss my bed.

Never, I have too much to lose but not being allowed to dream. Without dreams I think we would lose sight of who and what we are.

My sleep dreams (as oppose to my “real” dreams like things i want to accomplish) aren’t really that important to me. I enjoy sleeping though, lol. I’m not sure I’d want to never be able to sleep.

Honestly I never remember my dreams so I’m not sure I would miss them much. I’d sure appreciate the extra hours in my day!

I would love to not sleep just to get a ton of stuff done. And then I would want sleep back. I love curling up with my blanket even when my mind is filled with the thousands of things I needed to get done. I need some down time. Oh and my dreams are so far out there sometimes, I dunno if I would mind them being gone 😉

You mentioned there being no end or beginning to each day…that got me thinking about people living in Alaska where there is all the sunshine or all the darkness. How do they cope?
I wouldn’t want to give up sleep either. Too important to have the downtime!

No way! That feeling of crawling into a warm, soft bed is just too good. I can’t give that up!!!!

I am usually too tired to dream I think. I do get to cuddle up with the little one a lot though. I sure hope the puppy gets his days and nights adjusted soon so I can get a little more sleep.

I can’t imagine not sleeping either. I love dreaming, both asleep and while awake so giving those up is really no option, especially since I work out so much of my mind when I’m dreaming.
