My daughter and I no longer wait at the bus stop alone each morning. Lately, we have these big, creepy birds to keep us company.
They first showed up about a month ago. There were about 20 or so then, perched in our neighbor’s tree, staring at me. At least it felt that way. The first thing I thought of was that movie, “The Birds” by Alfred Hitchcock. If you aren’t familiar with that film, it’s about a town which is, suddenly and for unexplained reasons, the subject of a series of widespread and violent bird attacks over the course of a few days.
The birds hadn’t made another appearance since last month, until this morning. They brought back a few friends because there were many more this time. And they were everywhere! Our neighbor’s house seemed to be a popular hangout.
As was the little building in their backyard.
Once my daughter got on the bus and I was done snapping pictures, I walked up the sidewalk back to the house and was startled when I suddenly realized there was one in the tree directly above me. I didn’t like being that close to it, so I ran up the little steps to our screened in porch. Don’t laugh, watch that Hitchcock movie and you’ll understand.
From the safety of my porch, I was able to take some pretty neat photos of it getting ready to take off.
I wish all of the photos had turned out a little better, but all I had was my phone and I had to use the zoom which made everything blurry. I would much rather have the blurry photos though than to have these creepy birds in my yard instead of the neighbor’s!
Hehe, as soon as I saw the headline, I thought of The Birds. Creeeepy!

That is crazy, wonder what is making them keep coming back. Any clue on type?
