I’ve had a sewing machine for about eight years and had never even used it until just the other day. With G being in Girl Scouts, I’ve found myself having to try sewing numerous badges onto her vest. Unfortunately, I have no sewing experience, aside from a few weeks of sewing in Home Ec class many, many years ago. I attempted to hand-sew the badges at first, but soon found that to be a huge pain in the you-know-what. It was also incredibly time consuming.
So, I pulled out the poor forgotten sewing machine, and after Googling a few how-tos and watching YouTube videos, I was able to get it set up and ready to sew. Thankfully, it wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it would be!
G’s patches are now securely on her vest and I couldn’t believe how easy it was. It made me feel like…..
Now, I can’t help but get excited about the real possibility to actually be able to make things like bags, doll clothes, pillows, whatever! Of course, I do know it will take some time and practice to actually get to that point.
If any of you have any sewing advice, tips or tricks, etc., I would LOVE to hear them!
Funny! I go through phases where I REALLY want to get a sewing machine and make a ton of stuff, but by the time I start shopping for them, I change my mind. Someday I will though.
