Drink Recipes! Festive Holiday Punch and Cherry Candy Cane Cocktail

December 23, 2014 By: Tonya16 Comments

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dr Pepper Snapple Group. All opinions are 100% mine.

Christmas is nearly here! I’m sure many of you have already attended a Christmas party or two. Don’t you just love Holiday parties? I sure do. The more the merrier! One of my favorite things about them is the the opportunity to try different foods and drinks that you normally only see around this time of year.

I’ve come up with some festive holiday drinks of my own that I would love to share with you!

The first recipe is a punch that turned out amazing (if I do say so myself). I had Hubby try it too, and to quote him, “Mmmm….that’s good. Wow, really good!”

Honestly, it did turn out way better than I thought it would. I decided to use an apple-cherry flavor of frozen juice concentrate and I believe that really made the difference.

The red and green of the cherries and limes makes this perfect for Christmas!

Note: Since I don’t actually own a punch bowl, this recipe only makes enough for a small pitcher, so adjust as necessary.

Festive Holiday Punch

Just FYI, I was unable to get my original photo of this drink back from Photobucket (grrrr), so this image is from public domain pictures since the drink in the glass looks very similar.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups lime sherbet
  • 4 cups 7up
  • 1 12oz. container Apple-Cherry frozen juice concentrate
  • handful or so frozen Dole dark sweet cherries
  • sliced limes

Directions:

  1. Put frozen juice and lime sherbet in pitcher.
  2. Pour 7up over all.
  3. optional: stir just slightly, if desired.
  4. Add frozen cherries and lime slices.

Easy right? Now, on to the next one.

This next drink recipe is for adults only. It’s a fun, easy cocktail that looks especially festive with the little candy cane hanging on the glass.

What really makes the difference in this drink is the Cherry 7up. It gives this minty concoction the perfect little hint of cherry.

Cherry Candy Cane Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 4oz. Cherry 7up
  • 1oz. Rum
  • 1oz. Peppermint Schnapps
  • small candy cane

Directions:

  1. Add 7up, Rum, and Schnapps to glass of ice.
  2. Stir. Then add the candy cane to side of glass.

There you have it, two delicious drinks that are fun, and simple to make. The easiest part of the whole drink creating process was that I was able to pick up most everything I needed at Safeway. So convenient!

Enjoy! I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

That cherry cocktail looks good! How do you think it would taste with vodka instead of rum?
