It’s never too late to learn something new. My daughter bought some kind of crazy knitting/looming toy at Goodwill. G was excited about being able to make scarves, hats, etc. Unfortunately, the toy ended up not working properly and was a real pain. So, we ditched the horrid contraption and I decided to try learning crochet. I figured once I figured out how to do it, I could teach G.
I’ve been working at it for about a week now, and this is what I have done so far. The curled up mess, top left, was my first attempt at trying to make a dishcloth.
I’ve already started to teach G a little bit here and there. She loves learning to crochet too!
If you crochet, I would love to hear any tips or learning resources you would like to share!

Oh wow! You’ve gotten so good after only one week! I used to crochet all the time years ago – bet I wouldn’t be able to crochet a dishcloth even half as good as your first attempt! 🙂

I am trying to crochet some granny squares to make a little lap blanket for my daughter. It is a slow process!

I used to crochet years and years ago. I made a 20ft long scarf, seriously. That was my only and last time, lol

Wow! You’re really good for only learning a week ago – be super proud!!
Dishcloth’s are awesome to make – especially when you’re just learning and because there are soo many different colours of cotton to choose from.
I recently posted some links to dishcloth patterns on my blog …

I’ve tried to crochet several times, but I just don’t have the patience. None of mine looked anywhere near as good as yours! Congrats to you for trying (and succeeding)!

You’re doing great! Keep up the good work. I used to crochet and always enjoyed it. But my current craft is quilting. Who knows — maybe you’ve inspired me to start crocheting again!
